Animal Disease Prevention Division Services
Vaccination Clinics - May and June 2005
The Animal Disease Prevention Division of the Department of Health extends a variety of services to the general public year round.
One of these is the free vaccination (rabies and distemper) clinics to the resident’s cats and dogs, once a year.
The free vaccination clinics is an outreach program that allows the Department of Health to educate our community with information regarding responsible pet ownership
(scooping dog poop, leash walks, etc.), reporting animal bites, West Nile Virus, and rabies protection. The District law requires
that all cats and dogs be vaccinated against rabies and distemper by four (4) months of age and be kept current.
The best thing you can do to protect yourself and your family from rabies is to vaccinate your cats and dogs against this
fatal disease. In addition, all dogs must have a current dog license.
