The In-School Program
As a public service, the staff of the District of Columbia's Fisheries and Wildlife Division presents various topics related to the local aquatic environment to students in their classrooms. The primary benefit of the in-school module is to supplement educators' needs while promoting aquatic education and conservation concepts.
This educational outreach activity is made possible through a grant from the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the Government of the District of Columbia. To get involved in our In-School Program, teachers should contact our office to schedule classroom visits.
The following are some of the presentation topics available for this program:
- General Introduction to DC Fisheries and Wildlife
- Fish Biology
- Water as an Environment
- The Chesapeake Bay
- Wetlands
- Aquatic Ecology
