The Underground Storage Tanks Management Division provides these services:
Administers the Risk Based Corrective Action (RBCA) Program
Administers the Voluntary Remediation Action Program (VRAP)
Certified Contractors and Risk Assessors
Certifies technicians, closure specialists (assessment and remediation), and system testers
Certifies third-party service providers
Manages the UST and LUST Access database systems
Performs Environmental Impact Statement Review (EIS)
Assumes
financial responsibility
Implements UST Regulations
Assumes lender liability
Licenses and certifies UST businesses
Manages the EPA UST ACCESS data base system
National UST Facility Registry
Processes permits
Provides education and outreach
Provides emergency response due to LUST
Provides letters of permanent and temporary tank closure
Registers tanks, collects fees, and levies fines
Reviews and approves
Supplies information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
