Mission

The Health Program for Refugees & Asylees provides health screenings and follow-up medical care to new refugees & asylees who resettle in the District of Columbia. The program works toward strengthening Refugee & Asylee families to enable them to perform jobs while preventing the spread of communicable diseases to the DC population.

Program Description

This program ensures that newly arrived refugees & asylees receive health screenings and medical follow-up care, if required. While not specifically mentioned in any city law, the program is consistent with the laws concerning communicable diseases and is funded by a Federal Grant.
