Internship Program

Employment

  • Interns will be employed on a temporary basis to complete specific projects or assignments within the agency.
  • Internships will be granted according to eligibility, departmental needs, and the availability of funds.
  • Interns may work full-time or part-time, depending on the scope of work, availability of funds, and the student's schedule.
  • An initial internship may not exceed one year. Appointments may be renewed based on departmental needs and the availability of funds.
  • Interns do not have procedural or appeal rights if they are separated from employment.
  • Interns are not entitled to life insurance, health benefits, retirement, or leave.
  • Interns will be appointed as Wages as Earned (WAE) employees.

Position Title and Grade

The official position title for any intern is "Student Intern."

Grades and salaries correspond to the academic levels listed below. Based on education and work experience, interns may qualify for Grade DS-6 or DS-7, depending on funding.
